Multiphoton Fabrication UW Style

The logos below were fabricated using multiphoton excited photon chemistry on a
purpose-built instrument and software developed by LOCI Co-PI Paul Campagnola.
The process is analogous to 3D printing but affords sub-micron features with 3D
freeform capabilities. Both logos were created from the protein BSA. MicroBucky
has lateral dimensions of 190 x 150 um and is ~3 um in height and
required ~ 6 sec to fabricate. The Motion W is 140 x 160um x 25um and
required approximately 3minutes to fabricate. Comparable structures cannot
be fabricated through more established technologies such as conventional 3D
printing and photolithographies.
