She has more than 10 years of experience in patent application, preparation, and prosecution, in the U.S. and overseas. Karen has also prepared patentability, invalidity, infringement/non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions, particularly in the area of Abbreviated New Drug Application certifications. Additionally, Karen has extensive experience in patent searching as well as assisting clients to develop a proactive patent strategy for their products. Prior to practicing patent law, Karen was an assistant professor of biochemistry at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
